Thankful Thursday on Wednesday b/c I have tomorrow off :)

I am super thankful for...

1) the wonderful blessing of family being here for Christmas and that the weather did not keep them away
2) for the random money (ada God's provision) that came in that allowed us to get fun Christmas presents for everyone rather than just kids
3) for kiddos that make Christmas have so much more meaning
4) most of all for my Savior that makes all things possible.  Happy Birthday Jesus!!

December 2010

Blake and JT with Santa and Mrs. Claus...JT was more interested in her necklace than anything

JT at his first Christmas party

Mom is mean and made me eat my own food rather than the good stuff

Jumping on grandma's lap (therefore the blurriness)

Checking out Santa at the party

"I am not too sure about this dude, hurry dad"

Papa sitting on Santa's lap...Silly Grandpa

Investigating what the other kids are doing

I am 8 months old

Well he has aquired some new skills in the last month.  He is now crawling but only on his elbows and knees.  His arms are too long to crawl on his hands.  He is busy and all over.  He loves playing with all the toys at daycare and the kids love playing with him.  He is sitting by himself for longer periods of time and has good control when he falls over.  He is waving periodically.  His best skill at this point is that he is saying "mama".  He expecially likes to say it when he is upset and makes whatever is upsetting him that much more dramatic and of course Mama can't resist coming to the rescue.  He continues to get longer and we are having some challenges finding pant long enough and sleeves long enough.  I think this is what I have to look forward to forever :)

Parade of Lights

We took JT to his first parade on Saturday.  He got to partake of the Parade of Lights down main street.  Here are pictures of him all bundled up and being a big boy in his stroller for the first time. He liked looking at everything and everyone.  He is a people watcher :)  Thankfully it was fairly warm (considering) and we didn't freeze and I didn't have to worry about him freezing.  Everytime we do anything I just keep thinking about how next year will be a whole new ballgame :)

First Thanksgiving

JT had his first Thanksgiving at Great Grandma Curfman's house.  He had his first experience of eating at the table and sitting in his chair that was actually attached to a chair. (I think that this may need further explanation.  Last February, we started doing updates on our home with the idea that we are going to try and sell it.  Part of that was decluttering which included taking the dining room table out and all of the chairs.  So that JT might oneday have a room to sleep in. That is the reason that we don't have a table or chairs at our house.) He got to eat sweet potatoes and pears.  Next year he will have the wonders of the Thanksgiving feast.  His grandma and his auntie were there.  It was a nice day.

Thankful Thursday

It is hard to believe that it has already been a week since Thanksgiving.  This last week has been one that has been full.  This Thursday I am thankful for an opportunity for Rusty to go back to school.  This being said I am also asking for prayer...Here is the full story...Rusty found a program in Grand Junction that is 15 mnths long but he could get an associates degree and several certification in automotive.  We went and looked at the shop and got a tour on Tuesday.  I want Rusty to be able to do this.  I think that it would be great for him and for our family.  The catch is that he would have to stop his job and we would have to find someway of making up that $ b/c his job covers daycare, gas, and food.  We need prayer to know if this is the thing to do and step out in faith or if we are being unwise.  This Thursday I am thankful for those people that are praying for us and for a God that cares enough to lead us and guide us through this life.

1) a healthy baby boy who is a joy and delight
2) a faithful husband who has a heart to be a good husband and father
3) a family who is healthy body, mind, and spirit
4) a God who is faithful and good throughout
5) the challenges that happen in life that remind us of what is important and challenges our faith to grow

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

1) My baby getting rid of his nasty little cough...the trick was saline solution and sucking before every feeding
2) Feeling better and my cough getting better (not so thankful for the asthma diagnosis I got in relation to the cough)
3) An extra day with my dad due to nasty weather earlier in the week
4) Fun new tupperware I got for hosting a party (Rusty equated Tupperware as my jewelry since I don't wear jewelry and error on practicality)

7 months old

Working on crawling

JT is now seven months old.  The floor is where he likes to spend his time rolling around and trying to get his arm and legs coordinated to crawl.  He is able to get up on all fours and rock so it won't be long.  His next favorite activity is jumping on your lap.  As you can see in the pictures he has some good faces that he makes.  He is such a fun little boy.  He is enjoying the new foods.  He seems to enjoy all the fruits, sweet potatoes, and squash.  He tolerates grean beans and doesn't seem to want anything to do with peas and carrots at this time.  His new sound is "ba".  So you will just hear him going "bababa" to anyone that will listen.  He is now at around 15 pounds 7 ounces and is 28 1/2 inches long.  We are wearing nine month stuff b/c of his long arms and legs.  He continues to be a joy and we are enjoying every minute with him.

Thankful Thursday

This week has been tough but I am thankful for...

1) the roads not being icy even though it is snowing
2) Rusty finding some free tires to put on the Bronco to get us by until there is a miracle and we can afford to buy new ones
3) Having the hope that we will not struggle financially forever and that someday we will have enough money to cover the basics and get out of debt
4) Getting to go to the chiropractor today (my back is all out of whack)

Pics

Halloween pictures and JT hanging out at his Grandma Karens

Thankful Thursday on Sunday

This week I am thankful for...

1) The possibility that JT will not have to have surgery.  The neurosurgeon just wants to keep an eye on it and have another MRI done when he is a year old.  My prayer is that God will unteather the hemangioma from the spine by the next MRI.
2)A fun halloween where JT got to do his first cakewalk and win and go on his first hay ride
3)That God miraculously provided time for me to complete my extra work so that I didn't have to do it over the weekend

Thankful Thursday

I have realized that I have missed at least last week. Last week was a little rough due to the whole family getting the flu.  Missing two days of work last week due to my family having the flu and then the daycare providers and her family getting the flu. Made for a short week.  But the things I am thankful for currently are...

1)  Employment where I have paid sick days so I don't have to worry
2)  The opportunity to help out friends
3)  JT feeling better and sleeping better after he had a visit to the Chiropractor
4)  For the Chiropractor who works on children and was so good to JT and me
5)  Opportunity to fill my bucket due to the Chiropractor giving a free first exam after seeing JT...SO thankful
6)  Both my parents who are here visiting and loving on their grandson
7)  Nyquil that helps my husband to sleep without coughing and in turn allows both me and JT to sleep also  (its the little things)

6 months old

Growing boy

Dad trying to get in the picture :)

Dad succeeding

We have made it to the half way point of a year.  It is very hard to believe.  So far he is rolling over both ways with ease.  He is getting his knees up underneath him and scooting on his forehead.  It will not be long before he is crawling and into everything.  He enjoys blowing bubbles and making gurgling noises.  We started eating food just this week.  He ate his whole bowl of rice cereal his second time and realized that opening his mouth for the spoon meant good food.  We have graduated to 6-9 mnth clothes b/c he is so long.  We have his well baby check next week and we will get his official measurements then.  He smiles with ease and giggles at the other kids at daycare.  It is official that everyone that meets him thinks he is adorable :)

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

JT starting to sleep through the night again after a week of rough sleep due to sinus congestion and a cough

The peace of God that surrounds you when you trust in Him even when you don't have the answers and you have to coordinate with doctor's schedules...ie got a call from the doctor's office stating that they saw some irregularities from the MRI but I had to wait a couple of weeks before I could see the doctor for specifics

A new appreciation for Fall and enjoying the lower temps and colors in a new way than before...not mourning the end of summer as much or dreading the impending snow as much :)

Having healthy parents who raised me in a (for the most part) healthy environment and gave me many opportunities...if you ever need a reality check of how bad things could be go to a child protection meeting at department of health and human services...makes me so thankful for the people I have in my life

Thankful Friday

Since this week has been slighly hectic...I am a day behind...so today I am thankful for...

1) JT having insurace and the health care bill that has made it so babies cannot be denied insurance for pre-existing conditions...this should be prefised with JT has to get an MRI on Oct. 5 due to have a hemangioma (mass) on his back that could be potentially attached to his spine canal which could cause issues with lower body movement, so we have to see with the MRI if it is attached and if so he will need surgery to get it removed...

2)God's provision that resulted in a happy b-day party for Blake (he is 7 now, CRAZY)

3)Made it through a stressful week at work and a co-worker who helped me get caught up...go teamwork

Thankful Thursday

I missed a week so this will encompass the last two weeks...I am thankful for

1) a God that answers prayer
2) a husband that tries his very best to be a good husband and father and can admit his shortcomings and laugh about them
3) nice Fall weather that you can still wear skirts comfortably but you don't necesarrily need A/C
4) thankful for the services and the people in our community that work to keep children safe despite the up hill battle of funding and the human nature

Five Months

Getting big
Sporting the outfit that Grandpa got him
Hanging with dad

Our boy is five months old.  We had our well baby check up and he is 14 pounds and 27 inches long (98th percentile in heighth).  He is rolling over both ways and just a happy boy.  He has started giggling more and loves to face out and watch the world.  He has become facinated with our cat and will follow her with a watchful gaze trying to figure out that creature is.  We made it through our first cold together.  We both got pretty moucusy and he did not appreciate mom sucking his boogers out.  He got pretty good at avoidance techniques.  He continues to sleep through the night.  We are so thankful for our boy.  He is a precious gift to us.

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday snuck up on me.  The things that I am thankful for this week are...

  • that I am breast feeding and don't have to buy formula very often ($25 is rediculous)
  • that God worked it out that the money went just as far as it needed to...groceries, gas, formula :(, and laundry detergent...
  • for our Life Group at church and that we are getting started again after the summer...

Thankful Thursday

It is Thursday again and honestly I am having a hard time thinking of things to be thankful for due to stresses at work but I will give it a try...

I am thankful for my husband that allows me to rant about my boss and is understanding rather than trying to fix it...

I am thankful for my parents who come and visit my on a regular basis b/c it is too expensive for us to be able to go and see them...

I am thankful that we always have choices, even when we feel like we don't, all be it they are small choices...

I am thankful for my in-laws and my parents that make sure that their grandson has fun things to help him grow and develop into a healthy human being but so far have been great about not spoiling him...

First Sick Day

This is "What are you doing Mom" look
He is much more interested in his foot than sitting up straight
This just being cute for the camera
"I love my toes"

We had to stay home from work and daycare of Monday b/c JT had a fever and just wasn't himself.  We think that he could be teething but we are not sure.  He was just fussy and wanted to cuddle and sleep with his momma so that is what we did.  This was a time when he was feeling better and we were practicing our sitting up :)

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful this week for....

it being uneventful...
JT surviving his first bite from a kid and it not breaking the skin...
a mother-in-law that cooks dinner for us Fri. and Sun. every other week...
getting extra money so that we could fill both gas tanks in our vehicles...
the reminder that I don't have to worry or fear, we will not struggle financially forever...

Thankful Thursday

I have some friends that blog that do thankful Thursdays and I thought that I would join in.  I got to thinking that it was important to focus on the things that I have rather than continually focus on the struggles and the things that I don't have especially right now and it will get me blogging consistantly.  So this week I am thankful for...

my baby giggling yesterday...
having a good daycare provider...
having a potential friendship building...
rain to water the lawn when I don't have time...
cooler evenings...
a baby that sleeps good at night...
and that God provides all the time and is in control

Four months old this week

Attending the Ridgeway Arts and Crafts show

His hand is so tasty but so is his thumb and fingers

Quality time with daddy

Blake riding the train at the Arts and Craft show

Our boy is four months old this week.  He has rolled over five times now.  He is continuing to talk up a storm and wiggles and jiggles like crazy.  This month he started for real daycare and loves it.  He love being around all the other children and they love on him.  I really like his daycare provider.  I get to go feed him at lunch which is a real blessing.  He continues to get bigger.  His check up is in a couple of weeks but it is estimated that his weight is around 14 pounds and is getting longer by the day, estimating that he is over 25 inches now.  He lived through his shots and didn't have any side effects (thank the Lord).  He is sleeping through the night for the most part and we have our morning and night routines. I would not go so far as to say we have a schedule :)  He is just a happy, sweet boy that is a super duper blessing to us.

First Rockies Game

Making Grandpa Proud, Go Rockies
Content and Happy after watching the Rockies win at Coors Field

JT got to experience his first Rockies game on August 1.  He got to go with his Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Becky, Uncle Daniel, Dad, and Blake.  It was a good time had by all.  JT and I had to be creative b/c it was very hot. So we hung out at First Aid in the A/C and walked around looking at all the people.  We enjoyed spending time with Grandma at Grandma's house.  Blake informed us that he was going to live in an apartment with a swimming pool when he grows up just like my mom and be a bagger at City Market :)
